The stool Emil can be transformed into a stepladder by simply restocking a part of the seating surface. Contrary to normal aluminum stepladders it integrates into the room through its material and looks, which makes it possible to permanently place it close to the place of action, for example, the bookshelf. Emil provides the safety of a stepladder combined with the comfort of being close to the place where it is needed. Emil is part of a research project on falls in the household, one of the biggest causes of death in Germany.
